Mi Casa Van Transport Policy

Our priority is the safety and well-being of every child during their transition from school to our care. To ensure a smooth and secure journey, we adhere to the following procedures:

1. Vehicle Safety & Compliance

  • Maintenance: Our van is professionally maintained with a current Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and registration at all times.

  • Safety Restraints: In accordance with New Zealand law, all children aged 5–7 years (or those under 148cm tall) must use a booster seat. These are provided by us and checked for secure fitment before departure.

2. Driver Requirements

  • All drivers hold a valid Full NZ Driver’s License.

  • Drivers carry a daily manifest of all scheduled children and an emergency contact list.

3. Pick-Up Procedures

  • Locations: We provide daily pick-ups from St Mary’s, Northcote Primary, and Willow Park. Other schools may be serviced by prior arrangement.

  • Meeting Point: Children are required to wait inside the School Office until our driver arrives to collect them.

  • Attendance Check: The van will not depart the school grounds until every child on the daily list is accounted for.

4. Parent Responsibilities & Attendance

To ensure the van isn't delayed and other children aren't kept waiting, we rely on clear communication:

  • Daily List: The pick-up order changes daily based on attendance.

  • Reporting Absences: If your child is sick or will not be taking the van for any reason, please text or email us immediately.

  • Unreported Absence: If a child is missing from the meeting point and we have not been notified, our driver must remain at the school to locate them, which delays the entire route.
